Jennifer's Story

My journey into flower arranging began 18 years ago when both of my daughters arranged their weddings. I wanted to create their wedding bouquets using flowers that they chose and that were meaningful to them.

I wanted to give them something that they were not able to achieve from someone who might not be able to give them the time to explore their ideas.

I did some practice displays for them using their table glassware, and I was able to make something that they had imagined into reality and although they are sisters their tastes are very different.

Both of their weddings were very special days and the flowers were admired by friends, family and guests.

Jennifer's journey

The arrangements caught people's attention. People began asking me to create flowers for their own occasions, and what started as something special for my girls grew naturally through recommendations and word of mouth.

I felt very privileged to be able to make and arrange the flowers for my dear mothers funeral, I recalled her favourite flowers and was able to include those in the coffin wreath and the flowers from the grandchildren.

And although I seemed to have a flare for putting flowers together I did attend a couple of evening classes at a local college.

Eighteen years later, I'm still creating flowers with that same personal approach.

Flowers by Jennifer Florence is an independent florist based in the GL4 area of Gloucester.

Jennifer works from a private home studio rather than a traditional retail flower shop. This allows her to focus on made-to-order, bespoke commissions rather than mass-produced arrangements or a fixed catalogue.

Jennifer personally works with her customers from the initial conversation through to creating their flowers.

The business generally serves Gloucester and surrounding areas within approximately 10 miles of GL4, with delivery available depending on location and requirements.
